Our Brief History

The University of Energy and Natural Resources, established by an Act of Parliament, Act 830 on December 31, 2011. The first batch of students was enrolled in 2012. Subsequently, the first Congregation was held on June 18, 2016, with the graduation and ushering in of 198 graduates with various bachelor’s degrees in Natural Resources Management, Renewable Energy Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering into the Alumni fraternity. The UENR Alumni Association was formed and duly inaugurated in November 2016 by the University Management. The charge to lay the foundations of the association was led by Ing. Joseph Kusi Yankyera, as the Ag. Global Alumni Chairman.

The Association held its maiden congress in August 2018. The Congress outlined several activities including the elections of officers for the 2nd Alumni Governing Council, with Ing. Lewis Ofori Amankona as the Global Alumni Chairman. The 2nd Alumni Governing Council took the helm of affairs on September 5, 2018, at a handing over ceremony.
